HISTORY

Telecom Egineering & Support Sector (TES) is an addition to the diversified business operations of Al Sharq.

TES vision is to focus on establishing core telecom business for itself apart from imparting support for other department projects concerning the planning, designing, engineering, and project management of various telecom projects for the company and other clients. The route for this wing was planted since 2002 by stengthening OSP network design and fiber implementation projects team for OSP Department. Later on the award of DPS, CDMA, ADSL then the FEPMobily projects added financial gain for the company. The exponentially growth graph indicates the performance and business.

 

TES Core support is enabling OSP and GSM to go turnkey in addition to its own self sufficient role on core telecom business. Since beginning of year 2009, TES is placed independent like other business units and managing the operation by establishing three dedpartments with more than hundred twenty five skilled personnel. There is continuous plan to grow with the growth and addition of core telecom business to Al Sharq.

BROADBAND DEPARTMENT

The demand for more bandwidth is continuously adding fiber optic on long distance backbone, metro and access network of the Kingdom. Ultimately the Fiber to the Home (FTTH) is the last mile to achieve the ultimate speed. Teams of dedicated professionals categorized under three sections are adding yearly revenue of more than 15 million for this Sector.

 

FOC Installation Project:

Deals with the installation of fiber cable for the direct buried and conducts Mandrel Tests, Rope Shooting and ultimately pulling of Fiber cables on ducted route for the company and other clients. The cabling method is both by manual and Blowing Technique. Mobily, STC, SWCC and SEC projects are getting the service from this section.

 

FTTx Projects:

This section executes the building connectivity through fiber by extending services from the existing available penetration point of Mobily Metro or by executing the trench from nearest manhole to the building. Site survey, route design, planning and implementation of fiber cable laying, as-built preparation and PAT are executed on time. Ultimately the CPE installation in customers end extends to access the services.

 

ISP/LAN Connectivity:

This section deals with the Core Network installation jobs by fixing racks, cabinets, UPS for various system upgrade and replacement projects of STC, Mobily, Zain on Core Network segments for the SDH,GPON,MSAN,OCS,WiMax and IpTV networks, through Huawei.

Supply and installation of Data and Voice points (Nodes) including cat-6 cable and face plates by providing the LAN connectivity inside malls and commercial buildings. Installation of smart city required Fiber Nodes and triple play accessories throufgh I Net and other ISP owners.

 

 

CORE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

 

The Core Engineering Department projects are categorized under Fiber Telecom, Engineering & Design, and Core Telecom Projects. Installations and commissioning of transmission projects of GSM, GPON, OLT and MSAN. Apart from generating its own business and also by extending supporting to OSP on design & fiber splicing, terminations, PAT and GSM on Design, telecom installations, optimization and PAT. Team of highly skilled engineers and technicians adding more than 8 million worth job for the Sector

 

Fiber Telecom:

This is the core support group to accomplish OSP and ISP projects executing fiber splicing, testing, commissioning for STC and Mobily. Restoring faults, breakdowns, MDT and other O&M jobs for Mobily and STC on the OSP segment. The terminations and patching for CPE, Wi max, FTTH and all other fiber associated projects are undertaken under the ISP domain. Established one among the top contractors for O&M of Mobily in FTTB and FEP projects for Riyadh, Qassim and Hail.

 

Engineering & Design:

This section is equipped with a team of experienced Design Engineers, Surveyors and CAD/ Micro-station operators to undertake the OSP, FTTX, design projects. Timely need for GSM Civil Design, RAN, MSAN and GPON architectural design works are undertaken. This is the heart of all Engineering projects executing various network related jobs for telecom infrastructure growth. Capable to undertake Digitized Plan Survey (DPS) and GIS job for STC and Mobily.

 

Core Telecom Projects:

This unit is currently involved in implementing Core Network Hardware Installation projects of MSC,BTS, OCS (Online Charging System) WiMax, IPTV through Huawei & Motorola for all the operators. The installation, testing, commissioning and PAT for FTTH CPE – Mobily & STC, GPON, OLT are included. TES is targeting to undertake projects on wireless, Wi max, SDH for replacement and new installations in ARAMCO, RSAF, Mobily and STC.

 

 

 

Project Managment and Control

The TES Sector business planning, operation and control is routed through this Department, organized by a Manager, Commercial & marketing executives and assistants from each department. The focus is on Resource Management by continuously upgrading the profile, business plans & processes, Quality & Department Manuals and HQ needs for TES associated HRM functions. The commercial business aspects of invoicing, collections and disbursement of float and suppliers needs are tracked and controlled by this unit. The prime focus on Project Management support for both the operational department on reporting, bidding, new business ventures, internal and external auditing, quality and safety aspects are governed by this unit to place TES on a professional platform


ASOC has been earned an out standing track record in the field of civil, Telecom, water works, GSM, OSP, Electro Mechanical, ADSL and O&M works. Over the past, it is working hard to establish itself as one of the upcoming contractor in Saudi Arabia. Among the completed projects it has built known land marks. The company's field of activity has covered building of fibre Network as well.

 

The continued growth of the company has been achieved through the management's ability to adopt new technology both in the office and in the field while maintaining its traditional standards of quality and performance.

 

In order to continue this growth and achievements in the future as well, the Telecom O&M Department which was scattered in parts with OSP & TES since 2008 was formed separately with its own identity in October 2010 with the basic idea to target the future business for the company as the telecom construction work will come to an end at one stage so that the company presence in the Telecom market should exist.

Telecom O&M Department has earned an outstanding track record in a very short period. Currently the Department has Two Main projects ie

  • Mobily Metro Project.
  • STC Metro Copper cable Maintenance project.

 

Mobily Metro Project:

    This department started with this operation and Maintenance project in 2008 with the confidence and working hard to expand all over the kingdom. The quality Management and Technical support leading the O&M Mobily metro project to expand the presence from complete central region to western region with in short period of time. The Department staff and workforce possess proven expertise in customizing the large and small Projects.

     

    In order to operate the Project, Seven RMC's are established at Riyadh, Buraydah, Hail, Tabuk, Medinah & Yanbu. All the RMC's are well equipped with Materials, Tools, Test Equipment, Vehicles and experienced Manpower. The Project comprises on the following elements:

    • Long distance ring Unayzah - Dwadmi - Zulum.
    • Part of LD SDH Rings.
    • Metro Rings.
    • FTTB, FTTH networks which includes also some compounds.
    • YESSER - SAHER - ATVAM.

     

    Network Optimization is also a part the Project which include the following :

    • Preparation of fiber Utilization Plan.
    • Testing all cables route.
    • ODF/ODF Fibers Testing.
    • Bend /Defective Fibers repairs.
    • Labeling verification.
    • Ducts & MH Conditions.
    • Patrolling.
    • Monitoring 3rd party activities.
    • Mobily route locating to 3rd parties for safety.
    • Repair of cable cuts or any duct / route damages.
    • Preparing Police case if any cable cuts or route damages.
    • Impose penalty to 3rd parties under the supervision of mobily.
    • Monitoring sub-contractors who work for mobily on mobily routes for safety.
    • Confirming the route to Mobily coordinator to instruct other subcontractors work along mobily route.

 

STC Metro Copper Cable Project:

    This Project started on 1st may 2011 in the following districts :

    • Jeddah.
    • Outside Riyadh.
    • Hail.
    • Quassim.
    • ArAr.
    • Al Jouf.

    The scope of this project is to maintain the STC Secondary cable network.
